Stuffed Mushrooms

Lyra, Rhode Island

• 2-8 oz pkgs. large mushrooms rinsed and stem removed (Reserve stems, mince)
• 1 pound bulk sausage (like Jimmy Dean)
• 1/2 cup breadcrumbs(plain or seasoned)
• 2 T. margarine or two tbsp sausage drippings
• 1 c. mozzarella cheese shredded.

Brown the sausage and mushroom stems til done. Drain. Add breadcrumbs,margarine or reserved drippings, and 3/4 cheese. Mix well. Stuff mixture into mushroom caps sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 20 min...Serve with hot sauce or plain..
