Boiled Cabbage

Cut your cabbage in half. Wash thoroughly. Remove all bad or damaged leaves. Cut up in medium size pieces. Put into a large pot and fill with water until cabbage is covered. Add your uncooked bacon. Boil this mixture for 45 minutes on high stirring occasionally. Add onion, pinch of sugar (to take away the bitterness), salt, pepper and garlic to taste. Place on medium heat and cook until the water is almost gone, all of your leaves are nice and tender and of course, the bacon is done. Stir as needed. Serves 8.
